If you want to show your creativity, your home garden design can be as individual as you are. When planning the gardens around your home, there are benefits you can gain by considering unique designs in the types and colors of plants you use, or the planters and features you incorporate.

There are a few things that can be done that will make this wish a reality. And nearly everyone wants a yard that is not only beautiful and manicured, but also one that stands out, draws attention and is the envy of all the passer bys.

The first thing to consider is that your gardens can include a mixture of flowering plants, colorful vegetables or herbs. Also, choose flowers that are suited to your level of skills. Some flowers, while very beautiful, require a lot of time and care to keep them looking beautiful. If you don't have the time to constantly care for your garden, choose flowers that are self sufficient and require little to no care. While your garden may look beautiful when you first plant it, if you don't maintain, it will just look sad and unkempt.

When thinking about your home garden design, it might be that there are certain herbs and vegetables that are much cheaper to grow on your own and a home garden is a great way to raise your own organic food.

Another great addition to make your yard stand out is to choose a great lawn decoration or two to make yours unique. Visiting a garden center, you will see just how many of these great lawn ornaments are available. Start by choosing something that relates to your garden and your gardening style.

 If you are looking to have that secret garden look of a cottage, you may choose something like a gazing ball, small, whimsical fountain or a wishing well. They are available in many different sizes as well. Whatever you choose, your yard will become the envy of your neighborhood if you just take the time to plan it out correctly.
